Automobile Makers Ferrari influence in the Industry

Ferrari is one of the most influential automobile makers in history. It started many trends in automobile industry and the influence of Ferrari stimulated the creation of many famous cars. For example, the famous Italian company Lamborghini was founded in 1963 with the objective of producing a refined grand touring car to compete with offerings from established marques such as Ferrari. In 1963, Ford Motor Company tried to take over Ferrari for $ 18 million. However, Enzo decided at the last minute that he didn’t want to sell. Americans were not happy about this one little bit and decided to retaliate in the best possible way: they created a sports car that could compete with Italians. The legendary Ford GT40 was inspired and created.
In 1969 Ferrari became part of automobile Italian giant Fiat. Enzo Ferrari remained at the position of the head of Scuderia Ferrari while Fiat concentrated on road-legal models.
Since the mid 1950s, the Italian design studio Pininfarina and Ferrari have worked together on almost all road-legal models. The two companies had such a good, close relationship that at one point Sergio Pininfarina held a share in Ferrari.
Ferrari is well known for producing limited series vehicles that are constructed and designed for speed and high performance. Because of this combination of exclusivity and quality it means that the company can justify selling their cars for such high prices.

The Famous Red Ferrari

The colour red is strongly associated with Ferrari. Since it was the traditional colour of the Ferrari racing team, red became the signature colour. Nowadays, even though Ferrari do a range of colours, red is still the most popular choice. The official name for the red paint is ‘Rosso Scuderia’. While red is the well known colour of the Ferrari brand it was never done as a brilliant marketing idea. Red just happened to be the colour that was assigned to all Italian grand prix race cars in the early years of auto racing.
